Building Buzz for Hilton Baltimore Grand Opening

Hilton Baltimore, a quasi-public project, was a new hotel set to open near the Baltimore Convention Center.

The Problem

Hilton Baltimore needed to coordinate opening events, including a ribbon-cutting and grand opening, in a city with very high expectations of the hotel to boost tourism and exposure for Baltimore—especially considering the public investment in the project.

Our Solution

Clapp 360 Communications created a brand to combat negative perceptions that formed because of public investment in the hotel. We developed messaging to keep the community abreast of the project’s developments and disseminated that messaging using media alerts, press release and events.

Our Results

The brand we created garnered media coverage across local, regional, national and trade outlets, print, broadcast and online. A ribbon-cutting event featured prominent local elected officials and community members, and a grand opening featured high profile entertainment including local and national celebrities.
