Clapp Communications, an integrated marketing and communications firm, recently named Karen Robinson as senior account director. Robinson will be responsible for managing client campaigns leading with public relations, social media writing, and marketing.
With nearly 20 years of marketing communications, public relations and journalism experience, Robinson has worked for a variety of well-known Baltimore institutions and publications.
Prior to joining Clapp Communications, Robinson served as senior communications specialist for Johns Hopkins Medicine International, where she orchestrated communications for a 275-employee global division, cascading messages from all levels of Johns Hopkins leadership and managing change. Further, she promoted success stories to internal and external audiences through articles, social media posts, videos, graphics, newsletters, talking points, and more.
She previously served as assistant director of media relations for the University of Maryland, Baltimore and its seven professional schools, with a focus on the Carey School of Law. Before that, Robinson was the senior media relations officer for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She began her career covering health care and biotechnology for The Daily Record and was a staff writer for The Baltimore Jewish Times.

Robinson has a master’s in public administration from the University of Baltimore and a bachelor’s in English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
