Barb Clapp, former CEO of Barb Clapp Advertising & Marketing, LLC, will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Public Relations Society of America Maryland Chapter at the 2019 Best in Maryland Gala at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House on December 4.
The award recognizes industry leaders, with a minimum of 20 years of experience, who have exhibited extraordinary achievements and demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of public relations.
Over her 30 years as a public relations professional, Clapp has developed deep community connections, established long-term relationships with clients and peers, and consistently stayed on top of the latest trends in the industry. Her first account was Comcast Corporation, where she was responsible for all public relations and events that took place surrounding the merger of Comcast and AT&T, into the Washington, DC, and South Florida markets. The agency grew immediately with the addition of several national accounts.

Under her leadership, the agency has continuously won local and national awards in multiple communications categories. She is a coveted crisis communications speaker and has been instrumental in groundbreaking public relations activities in the city and beyond.
Clapp founded Barb Clapp Advertising & Marketing, LLC in 2001 and rebranded as Clapp Communications in 2011. She later sold the company to Victory-360, LLC, owned by Michael DeMos, and now serves as Director of Client Relations & Strategy.
